24.3 Update Plan
In June of 2024 at FlightSimExpo in Las Vegas, we announced a new partnership with Sporty's Pilot Shop. We have more information coming on that front, but during that announcement, we mentioned it would launch with Infinite Flight 24.3; our next major update. We also stated that our plan is to push 24.3 in August, pending any showstoppers or roadblocks. Summer is expo season as well as vacation time for many of our team, so it's important to set realistic goals for deployment that allow us to keep our attention on development.
In addition to a new set of 3D airports, and the C208 rework coming in the next release, 24.3 contains numerous technical changes to improve the experience when downloading aircraft or connecting to multiplayer. To help shed some light on what this entails, here are some highlights:
- We have new multiplayer stability improvements coming, but we are still focusing on stability (specifically, when communicating with ATC) and need a bit more time to perfect this.
- Infinite Flight should use less bandwidth in the next release in multiplayer, and work better on networks that previously had issues.
- Android devices should experience faster aircraft downloads.
- As part of our preparation for expo season, we've been preparing some improvements to help IF run without a network connection. These enhancements might not make it to 24.3, but it is a good step for a new offline feature.
