24.2 Replay Auto-Delete

We're back with another look at a new feature coming to Infinite Flight 24.2; replay auto-delete. We know that your flight replays in Infinite Flight are precious memories of your journeys. However, as your collection grows, so does the space they take up on your device. To help you manage this, we're introducing a simple solution: Replay Auto-Delete.

For Our Existing Aviators:

When you first check your logbook after updating to version 24.2, you'll notice something new. We'll ask if you'd like to turn on Auto-Delete to help free up storage. This feature, by default, is turned off for existing users to ensure that you have full control over your replays. If you choose to enable it, Replay Auto-Delete will keep only the latest 10 replays that can be deleted.

Worried about losing important flights? You have the power to enable or disable this feature anytime from the logbook page, where we've placed an easy-to-find button just for this.

New Pilots, We've Got You Covered:

If you're installing Infinite Flight for the first time or reinstalling it after version 24.2, we've automatically turned on the Auto-Delete feature for you. This means the app will manage storage efficiently right from the start. But, just like our seasoned pilots, you have complete control to toggle this feature on or off within the logbook page.

How It Works Behind the Scenes:

The app keeps an eye on the number of replays that can be deleted. Once this number goes beyond a set limit, the app will delete the oldest replays upon starting up next time. But don't worry; it knows which replays are too important to touch. Any replay you've locked (or recent ATC replays less than 7 days old) won't be considered for automatic deletion. And if you decide to unlock a replay, we'll gently remind you that this might put it (or other older replays) in the queue for deletion upon the next app launch to keep you informed.

We encourage you to export and back up any replay you can't bear to lose. This way, your favorite flights are always safe, regardless of space management needs.
