Kuwait Airways

We’ll start with Kuwait Airways, the largest operator of the A330-800neo. Based in Kuwait City, the carrier uses the aircraft across a mix of medium and long haul routes spanning Europe and Asia. Compared to the other operators, Kuwait Airways has by far the most extensive A330-800neo network. Kuwait Airways does not assign the A330-800neo to fixed routes, so aircraft swaps are common. These routes are among the most typical.

Next up is Air Greenland. The airline operates a grand total of one A330-800neo, registered OYGKN, which replaced its older A330-200. As you’d expect, Air Greenland is based at Nuuk (BGGH) and uses the aircraft on its single long haul route, making it one of the most niche A330-800neo operations in the world.

That’s it.

Unlike other operators, Air Greenland’s A338 is dedicated almost entirely to this transatlantic lifeline, connecting Greenland with Denmark. Occasionally, the aircraft appears on special or repositioning flights, but it primarily operates to and from Copenhagen.

Uganda Airlines

Uganda Airlines was the second operator of the A330-800neo, with a small fleet based at Entebbe (HUEN). Unlike Air Greenland’s single route setup, Uganda uses the aircraft across a handful of long haul routes linking East Africa with the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.

Beyond the real world operators, there are always the classic Airbus & Generic liveries. Amsterdam to Saint Maarten is a popular long-haul route flown by KLM, famous for its stunning arrival over Maho Beach. Aircraft make an incredibly low approach just above the shoreline, making it a hotspot for aviation enthusiasts and travelers. This route was once operated by the Boeing 747, but after the jumbo jet’s retirement, it is now flown by smaller twin-engine aircraft like the A330-200.

Honolulu (PHNL) to Papeete (NTAA)

Airline: Hawaiian Airlines
Duration: Approx. 5hrs 30min

Fancy something a little more off-grid and tropical? If so, this one’s for you. Depart Honolulu and head south on an adventure to Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia, set on the northwest coast of Tahiti. While much of this route stretches across open ocean, the stunning views on departure from Hawaii and arrival into Tahiti more than make up for it. Top tip: fly this one during the daytime for the full experience.

Barcelona (LEBL) to Los Angeles (KLAX)

Airline: LEVEL
Duration: Approx. 12hrs

Ready to put the A332 to work? This long-haul route from Barcelona to Los Angeles is the perfect test. Cross the Atlantic and North America before descending into one of the world’s busiest and most iconic airports. This one is a true endurance run, but the scenic arrival into LAX, especially at sunset, makes it well worth the time and effort. 

And remember, keep the plane level… After all, it is operated by LEVEL.

Madrid (LEMD) to Caracas (SVMI)

Airline: Privilege Style
Duration: Approx. 9hrs 30min

Here’s another long-haul for you… swapping Spain’s capital for the heat of Venezuela. Depart Madrid and head southwest across the Atlantic toward Caracas, a city set between the Caribbean coastline and the peaks of the Avila mountains. Covering roughly 3,800 nautical miles, this route typically takes around 9 hours gate to gate. Much of the journey is oceanic, but the arrival more than makes up for it.

Fun fact: In real-world operations, this route is often flown under an Iberia flight number, but actually operated by Privilege Style on a wet lease.

Paris Orly (LFPO) to Algiers (DAAG)

Airline: Air Algerie 
Duration: Approx. 1hr 45min

If long-haul flights aren’t your thing, this one should be right up your alley. Depart Paris Orly and head south across the Mediterranean toward Algiers, the capital of Algeria, set along the North African coastline. This short haul offers a great balance but without the endurance test of a transatlantic crossing. You’ll trade Paris for coastal views and a scenic descent into Algiers. What are you waiting for?

How to use Garmin Pilot with Infinite Flight

Enabling a connection between Garmin Pilot and Infinite Flight requires that you follow a few simple steps:

1. Have two devices (one for each app) and ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network
2. In Infinite Flight, navigate to Settings > General > Enable EFB Link
3. In Garmin Pilot, locate and tap the Settings tab on the tab bar along the bottom
4. From the menu on the left, tap Flight Simulation
5. Enable Use Flight Simulator Data
6. Launch a session in Infinite Flight. You should now see a status of Receiving Data under Status in the Garmin Pilot Flight Simulation settings*

*In some cases, you may need to restart both apps if Garmin Pilot is not receiving data from Infinite Flight. Note that some public networks may block ports required for EFB Link to work.

Save money; Fly better

Fancy tools in the flight deck are only as good as our ability as pilots to understand and use them. Often, a busy flight deck isn't the best place to learn how to use your EFB or its new features. Sao Paulo Congonhas (SBSP) to Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont (SBRJ)

Azul Conecta operates as a feeder for Azul Brazilian Airlines with service to tons of Brazilian airports both big and small. With a fleet of all Caravans, Azul Conecta just became the proud owner of the 3,000th C208 to come off the production line in Wichita, Kansas.

On this journey from São Paulo Congonhas to Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont, you'll be greeted with São Paulo's urban landscape and the breathtaking vistas of Brazil's southeastern coast. As you approach Rio de Janeiro, iconic sights like Sugarloaf Mountain and Copacabana Beach will come into view. Don’t get distracted! Keep your speed up as you blend into the sequence with some serious heavy metal.

Sharing your screenshots and videos is a great way to showcase your skills and creativity as an Infinite Flight user. To share your screenshots or videos, simply take a screenshot or record your video within the app and save it to your device. Then, you can upload your content to the Infinite Flight Community Forum.

Create your own events

Creating your own events on the Infinite Flight servers is a great way to bring the community together and enjoy some fun and challenging flights. Whether you want to organize a group flight, airshow, or a fly-in event, the process is simple and straightforward. To find out more, the #live:events category is the place to go!

In addition to creating your very own events, each month we hand-select some of our favorites to feature on our social media channels and on the in-app home screen. Now that would be something to brag about…

Feature requests

If you have an idea for a new feature or improvement in Infinite Flight, you can create a feature request on the Infinite Flight Community Forum. Simply navigate to the #Features category and click on the "Create New Topic" button. When making a feature request, ensure that you include a clear and detailed description of your idea, as well as any supporting images or videos. It’s also important to double-check if anybody else has already created a request for the feature you want to see before creating your own topic.

Once you've created your feature request, other users can vote for it if they like the idea. The more votes a feature request receives, the higher the chances of it being implemented in the simulator. So, if you have an idea that you think would make Infinite Flight even better, don't hesitate to create a feature request and share it with the community!

Official Events

We love hosting weekly official events for our community, including flash flights, group flights, fly-ins/outs, world tours, and racing events which we like to call “whacky racing”. These events are listed on the Infinite Flight Community Forum and shared in advance on our social media platforms. There’s never a quiet week at Infinite Flight! These events are a fantastic way to get involved and enjoy our multiplayer experience across all three servers.

We also love to connect with our community in person by hosting meetups around the world. Infinite Flight ATC (IFATC)

Yes… We’re a flight simulator. However, what many people don't realize is that we also offer an exciting Air Traffic Control feature. In fact, players have the ability to take on the role of an air traffic controller and work their way up to become an expert server controller. Our expert server features realistic air traffic control, strict rules and regulations, and live weather conditions, providing a challenging and immersive aviation experience, making it one of our most popular servers amongst some of the best Infinite Flight pilots and controllers!

If you’d like to take your ATC skills to the next level, you can apply to become an IFATC member today! After a successful onboarding process, you’ll gain access to the Expert Server and an exclusive Discord community with over 500 controllers!

If becoming an expert controller doesn't appeal to you, that's absolutely fine! We also allow our users to control the virtual skies on our training server, which is a server with fewer rules enforced so that pilots and ATC can practice their skills at ease before transitioning to the expert server. Virtual Airlines & Organizations

Another brilliant way to get involved with the community is by joining a VA or VO. Virtual Airlines and Organizations are groups within the community who come together to simulate real-world operations and activities. These organizations offer a more immersive experience than just flying solo, as members can participate in group flights, share resources and knowledge, and build a community of like-minded individuals.

Virtual Airlines often have specific routes and aircraft types that mimic those of real-world airlines, while Virtual Organizations can offer a range of activities including air shows, competitions, and special events. Overall, these Virtual Airlines and Organizations offer a fun and social way for you to expand your Infinite Flight experience and engage with other players from around the world!

Third-Party Applications

Infinite Flight provides a range of APIs for developers to control and access data related to the simulator. The Connect API allows for local control of all aspects of the simulator, while the Live API provides real-time flight data for players on multiplayer servers. These APIs have been used to develop a variety of add-ons such as flight trackers, voice announcements, and remote controls. However, there are many other potential uses for the APIs that have yet to be explored.

Airport Editing

We've built an in-app Scenery Editor that allows users to bring airports to life by transforming 2D airport layouts into fully-realized 3D environments for everyone to enjoy. With this powerful tool, users can voluntarily customize and design any airport around the world, adding a level of realism and detail that is unmatched in the mobile flight simulator industry. The scenery editor is a great way to take your Infinite Flight experience to the next level, especially if you have a creative mindset.

Airport editing is a time-consuming process that requires a lot of focus to ensure that the airports being developed reach the requirements to be shipped in a future update. For this reason, we have an application process that every editor must go through before being granted access to the editor. Not only is creating airports a time-consuming process, the onboarding process can also be quite lengthy due to the high volume of applications and the complexity of the editor. We onboard editors in groups to ensure that their first time as an editor is a streamlined process with all the help they need, whenever they may need it. Once we’re happy with the outcome of the latest group, we begin the onboarding process for the next group of editors. So with that in mind, if you’ve applied to be an editor and haven't heard back yet, it’s a part of the process and nothing to be worried about.

Hawaii

One of the most popular holiday destinations for Infinite Flight pilots is the island of Hawaii. Fly before you fly

Using a flight simulator to fly a route before you fly it for real has many benefits. With Infinite Flight, all you need is your phone or tablet. Briefing an entire route in the simulator means you can build familiarity and identify where workload spikes might arise. Understanding how this can improve a pilot's non-technical skills (NOTECHS) can be a huge benefit. By flying an unfamiliar route in advance, the pilot already has important visual references, which can help reduce workload, increase capacity, and result in greater situational awareness. All of this can help lead to safer operation.

Flight planning

One of the most important aspects of conducting a safe flight is planning. Pilots learn this from the get-go. Being able to make calculations based on variables such as aircraft performance, fuel, and weather is a must. With Infinite Flight's real-world winds aloft, fuel burn, satellite terrain imagery, and density altitude, students can drastically improve and practice flight planning. Calculating speed, distance, time, and fuel don't come naturally to every student. Practicing and reviewing before getting in the cockpit can vastly improve a pilot's aeronautical decision-making (ADM).

Reducing task saturation

Whether you're a new pilot in training or an experienced airline veteran, one problem can quickly multiply into many if you can't stay ahead of the airplane. One of the biggest challenges in my private pilot training was radio communication at my uncontrolled airfield. Managing the aircraft's energy while also announcing to all on the frequency that I intended to approach the field from the upwind side 500 feet above circuit altitude, descend in a teardrop pattern to circuit altitude, cross mid-field, and join a mid-left downwind for runway 17 for a full stop was... a lot (that was even a lot to type).

My solution was to fly the exact same mission in Infinite Flight at my local uncontrolled field. I would practice my departure procedures, head out to the practice area, and return to join the circuit. I would do all of this while saying traffic position reports out loud. Somehow it felt less nerdy since an actual PPL was on the line! By practicing one of the many things that caused me to be fully task-saturated, I was able to reduce my workload in the cockpit and get better at flying the airplane.

Instrument procedure briefing

Speaking of staying ahead of the airplane, let's talk about instrument training. When you're learning to fly on instruments for the first time, it can be quite an unfamiliar environment. With no outside references, trusting your instruments is paramount. The other part of the challenge is knowing your procedures well. Becoming familiar with procedures into a new field can be achieved by using Infinite Flight in addition to studying approach plates, or coupled with your favorite electronic flight bag (EFB).

Infinite Flight works seamlessly with popular EFBs like ForeFlight and Garmin Pilot by providing GPS and attitude data in real-time provided both devices are on the same wifi network. Using Infinite Flight's global database of navigation aids and procedures, pilots can familiarize themselves by flying any route across the globe.

How to play Infinite Flight

Infinite Flight is a flight simulator for mobile devices such as phones and tablets and is free to download in the App Store and Google Play. It's compatible with iOS and Android and uses the device gyroscopes and accelerometers for pitch and roll movements. To get started, users can select from several aircraft and regions in solo mode or test their skills in our multiplayer environment as a pilot or air traffic controller with a subscription to Infinite Flight Pro.

After beginning a flight, pilots can practice their takeoffs and landings by using on-screen controls to manipulate power, brakes, rudder, trim, and many other aircraft components. To make the most of your first Infinite Flight experience, our Getting Started Guide is here to help!

How to land in Infinite Flight

Landing an aircraft can be the trickiest but most rewarding and enjoyable part of flying any aircraft! This is no different in Infinite Flight. When on approach to land, ensure that you are lined up with the runway centerline at an altitude where your approach angle is about 3°. Determine the appropriate flap configuration and airspeed for the aircraft you're flying, and maintain a stable approach all the way down to the runway.

Over the threshold of the runway, transition your sight to the end of the runway so you can judge the flare. Pitch the nose of the aircraft up slightly to flare and simultaneously reduce the throttle to idle. Hold this landing attitude until the aircraft settles onto the runway. Of course, this is a very abbreviated description of how to land, and our YouTube flying tutorials can help get you the rest of the way to great landings in Infinite Flight!

How to get to Grade 2 in Infinite Flight

Getting to Grade 2 in Infinite Flight requires that you meet certain criteria including Experience Points (XP), a minimum amount of flight time, and more. To see your current user stats and the next set of grade requirements, head to the Grade Table (Settings > Account > View Stats).

Pro Tip: Often, a struggle for pilots is obtaining the required number of landings to move up a grade. Try finding a quiet airport and practice touch and go's in a small aircraft. This can be a great way to build your landing skills and wrack up those landings!

When viewing your stats, the second column will list your current achievements. The third column of the Grade Table will show what you need in order to level up. Our User Profile guide is a great starting point for an in-depth look at how grades work in Infinite Flight.

The Grade structure in Infinite Flight determines what server(s) you have access to with your Infinite Flight Pro subscription.

How to make a flight plan in Infinite Flight

After starting a flight session, tap the globe icon located in the info bar at the bottom of the screen. This will bring up the map which you can pan, and pinch to zoom in and out. Tap map elements such as navaids and airports to plot a direct route or add to your flight plan. You can then select waypoints in your flight plan and use the up and down arrows to reorder them.

For a more advanced flight plan, try tapping an airport, and browsing through the published procedures on the PROC tab in the airport information window. Procedure waypoints will be grouped together in the flight plan. How to fly in Infinite Flight

After launching the app, tap FLY SOLO (or FLY ONLINE for Infinite Flight Pro subscribers). From this screen, you can select an aircraft, a starting airport, and a starting position. Hold the device in a comfortable position and when prompted, tap the screen to calibrate the gyroscope and accelerometer. The device is now your "yoke"!

Using the on-screen button interface, you can now start your engines, push the aircraft back when appropriate, release the parking brake, and taxi—using a little bit of throttle—to the runway. If you're in multiplayer mode, always be aware of traffic and when appropriate, always follow ATC instructions! To takeoff when lined up on the runway, release the brakes, advance the throttle, and stay centered on the runway centerline using rudder.

How to use APPR in Infinite Flight

APPR or "Approach Mode" in Infinite Flight is a way to autoland the aircraft in some equipped airliners. This advanced skill can come in very handy at night or in low-visability. Our Flying Guide has a section dedicated to APPR and our YouTube tutorial can take you through step-by-step.

How to use the ILS in Infinite Flight

Flying an instrument approach in Infinite Flight can be a fun and rewarding aviating experience! Our real-world navigation database allows pilots to practice instrument procedures before getting in the cockpit. It's a complex process so to use the ILS in Infinite Flight, visit our Instrument Approach Flying Guide for step-by-step instructions. You'll find that after practicing a few ILS approaches, you'll be ready to tackle one under ATC instruction!

How to take off in Infinite Flight

To take off in Infinite Flight, first ensure that your aircraft is lined up on the runway centerline. The runway selected should be oriented into the wind whenever possible. Apply crosswind corrections when appropriate. Ensure that you have a flap configuration that is appropriate for the aircraft you're flying according to weight, and runway length.

When you're ready to go, release the brakes, and advanced the throttle to takeoff power (usually full power in GA aircraft, and around 85% in airliners, though this varies). Keep the nose of the aircraft aligned with the runway centerline and at rotation speed (Vr), gently pull back on the yoke (tilt the top of the device toward you) and pitch up slightly. Adjust pitch to control your airspeed and use throttle to control the rate of climb.

How to open doors in Infinite Flight

Aircraft doors are now tied to ground service actions and are aircraft-specific. For example, while parked at the gate, you might call for PAX services, which would activate jet bridges or stairs where appropriate, and open the corresponding doors. Catering doors work in the same way.

How to use Ground Services in Infinite Flight

To use ground services, your aircraft must be parked on the apron with engines off, parking brake on, and beacon lights off. To activate ground services, find and tap the GROUND SERVICES button and make a selection from the list. Now, watch the ground services come to life!

How to start a flight in Infinite Flight

From the home screen, select Fly Solo and you'll have the option to choose from one of several aircraft and livery combinations bundled with the app, and a starting airport location from one of our many free regions. Note that multiplayer and ATC modes are available to Infinite Flight Pro subscribers. More on that later!

Once your aircraft is selected, tap the map marker icon and default KSFO parking spot to change location, or leave it at the starting location. Note, that you can start on a runway in solo mode to get started even faster.

Now that you're ready to go, tap the FLY button and get ready to take to the skies!

Flying in Infinite Flight

Now that you're ready to fly, let's talk about how the flying part actually works in the simulator. Infinite Flight uses your phone or tablet's gyroscope and accelerometer to mimic yoke or stick action. That means all you have to do is rotate or tilt your device for roll and pitch movements. For the rest, our on-screen 2D button interface allows you to control power and mixture settings, rudder, trim, flaps, and all other necessary controls.

You can also look around by pressing and moving your finger around the screen, as well as pinch to zoom from many different camera angles and positions. As always, our user guide can take you step-by-step through each phase of flight until you're comfortable!

Riga to Tenerife

The only all A220 airline in the world starts our top 5 off with their medium-haul route to Tenerife! This 6h40 Air Baltic route from their home base of Riga is one of the longest A220 routes flown and is a great choice for a weekend flight.

You’ll depart Riga at 0830 local time and head southwest crossing Lithuania, Poland, and Czechia before heading over the Alps in Austrian and Italian airspace. As you cross into the Balearic Sea over Marseille you’ll only be just over halfway! From there you’ll skirt the coast of Africa before descending down into a sunny Tenerife!

Lusaka to Dar Es Salaam

There are currently three African A220 operators, with the bright blue of Air Tanzania being the most striking choice. The airline now has 4 of the type, flying routes all over Africa and beyond!

The pick of the bunch is the 2-hour flight from Lusaka to Dar Es Salaam. You’ll get great views of the Munyeta Forest Reserve as you climb out of Lusaka before tracking the Luangwa River and crossing the impressive Lake Malawi. You’ll arrive into Tanzania after seeing some of the best scenery East Africa has to offer!

St. John’s to Toronto

There is nothing quite like an aircraft with a mask, and we’re not talking about the Cargolux B748 here. The striking bandit look of the Air Canada livery is a must fly on their A220, and the beauty of the routes lives up to that of the livery!

Located at the easternmost point of mainland North America, St. John’s is home to a bustling community that relies on the Atlantic for their living as well as a great network of flights to exciting destinations. The popular Air Canada flight back to their Toronto mega-hub is a great choice for an evening flight at around 3h30 minutes.

Zurich to Beirut

Swiss was one of the first airlines to take the A220 into their operations and now operate a large number of both the -100 and -300 variants. Forming a huge part of their short-haul fleet, the choice for routes is almost too large to narrow down!

One of the best of them all is another longer A220 route from Zurich to Beirut. The flight departs Zurich and immediately heads over the Alps in Austrian airspace. From there you’ll track the coastline of the Adriatic Sea, head into Greek airspace, and pass over Thessaloniki before beginning your descent as you pass over Cyprus. A delightful approach over the easternmost point of the Mediterranean Sea will complete your flight and finish off our top 5 list!

Dublin to New York

Some people may know Ireland for Riverdance, Guinness, and rugby, but true avgeeks know the nation for its airline, Aer Lingus. Formed in 1936, the airline flies the A333 from its Dublin hub to several destinations including Chicago, London, and Malaga.

Our choice for this airline, however, is its stand-out route from Dublin to New York JFK. A classic Atlantic hop, this route is slightly shorter than others from Europe and makes for a fantastic daytime flight!

Taking around 6h40m, you’ll see some of the wonderful Irish scenery before heading out into the open skies over the ocean. Arriving back to land you’ll fly through Canadian airspace over St Johns, arriving into New York via the Gulf of Maine. With 3D airports at both ends, we highly recommend this if you’re new to Infinite Flight!

Brussels to Accra

Next up is flight SN277, a route taking passengers from Brussels, Belgium, to Accra, Ghana. Brussels Airlines only fly the A333 for their long haul fleet, so if this flight isn’t the one for you, you have an entire network to choose from instead!

You depart from Brussels, making a southbound turn and flying over Paris. From there you head over the east of Spain and cross into Africa over the Alboran Sea. As you continue over Algeria the views become spectacular, with the arid desert landscape stretching from horizon to horizon. As you fly south you move into the tropical climate zone, with the greenery of Burkina Faso letting you know Ghanian airspace is near, and it’s time to descend!

A blast from the past, the AirTran B737 is great for North American and Caribbean routes. The vibrant paint scheme stands out as unique for some, but it certainly splits opinion. The airline was purchased by Southwest Airlines in 2014, flying to 69 destinations with 140 aircraft at that time.

Our aircraft, N175AT, was delivered in 2005, going on to fly for Southwest, and is still in the skies for United Airlines today. If you’re looking for a splash of retro in your flights, we suggest taking this one for a round trip to the Caribbean.

Yakutia Airlines Dash-8 Q400

Last on our list is a Dash-8 Q400 operator based in Yakutsk, Russia. Yakutia Airlines fly a mixture of B737, Dash-8, and Superjet aircraft, with B737 MAX and MC-21 aircraft on order. Flight Planning

Flight planning at its most simple is the process of creating a route from one place to another. On Infinite Flight, we have a selection of tools that can help you create the route you want. In this tutorial, we talk you through these.

Before watching this, we suggest you familiarise yourself with the different types of airport departures. We refer to the CWARD TWO departure in this video, an RNAV departure out of San Diego. Don’t worry if the term RNAV isn’t something you are familiar with. In this tutorial, we focus on how to input the departure route.

For those who want to fly pre-made flight plans using real-world airways, departures, and arrivals, a fantastic resource is FPLtoIF.com.

Takeoff Procedures

Takeoff requires negotiating complex variables and considerations that go into performing a safe departure. From thrust settings to rotation speeds, this tutorial really does help get you in the air safely.

To get the most out of this tutorial, a good understanding of each term is needed, and an understanding of V-speeds is advised. Understanding V1/VR is the foundation of knowledge needed.

Pattern Work

Pattern work is the act of flying a circuit at an airfield while maintaining visual contact. This tutorial takes you through the components of a standard traffic pattern. You’ll need an awareness of these before flying with ATC, as you’ll likely be given what’s referred to as pattern entry when arriving at a towered airport. This tutorial is great if you are a visual learner!

Navigating Infinite Flight

VORs, NBDs, ILS, and GPS; all terms that may scare a novice pilot away. If you’re in this group, don’t worry! This tutorial is designed specifically for you. In this video, we talk you through the different modes and settings that you can use to navigate Infinite Flight. We’ll show you how to set up the autopilot to fly your flight plan and then how to set your aircraft up for an ILS landing.

There are a few technical terms we use in the video. These terms are important as they are the names of the different modes that you can navigate and fly the autopilot with. For this video we suggest you have a look at the following:

• Instrument Landing System (ILS)
• Global Positioning System (GPS)
• Vertical Speed Indicator (VSI)

Autoland

After we’ve made a flight plan, departed the airport, and navigated our way to an ILS approach, we have to get back down on the ground. Most aircraft are capable of this with their autopilot systems. This feature is autoland, also referred to as APPR, short for approach mode.

Real-world aircraft and airports have different autoland capabilities. As a simple rule, all systems have a basic capacity to follow the horizontal and vertical components of an ILS to a certain predetermined height above the ground. These are called the localizer and the glideslope. You will have learned these terms in our Navigating Infinite Flight tutorial above.

On Infinite Flight, our system is modelled on the most comprehensive of real-world autoland capabilities. For those who want a more technical understanding, this is a CATIIIC system. This allows for a full autoland with no height restrictions, and further permits maintaining the centerline when on the ground.

This tutorial walks you through how to set this up, and gives you a few great tips on how to manage the aircraft at the phase of flight!

Almaty to Malé

Kazakhstan is a nation not flown to often on Infinite Flight. Kazakhstan is home to some of the most breathtaking scenery you can find, so we want to get people flying there! Our first route takes you on a Sunday Airlines charter flight from Almaty to Malé, the capital of the Maldives archipelago state. As you depart on one of the many interesting Standard Instrument Departures (SIDs), you’ll gain altitude before passing over the Kolsaiskie Lakes National Park. Continuing south you’ll head over Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Pakistan before flying along the Indian Coast. You’ll start your descent over the Laccadive Sea before entering Maldivian airspace.

This route takes a little over 6.5 hours but is well worth the time. Sunday Airlines is one of two Kazakhstani airlines that have come to the B757, with the other being Air Astana. You certainly won’t miss its bright pink color!

Accra to Johannesburg

African Airlines have gained 3 representatives in our 20.3 update, with Cabo Verde, Ghana International, and EC Air all coming to the B757. Our pick of the bunch from those offerings is a Ghana International route from Accra to Johannesburg.

You’ll depart south over the Gulf of Guinea and pass over São Tomé and Principle, meeting the African West coast once more over Gabon. As you transition from the tropical to arid climatic zones, you’ll notice the ground turning from glorious greenery to desert. You’ll start your descent over Botswana, and before you know it Johannesburg will come into view! The flight takes just under 6 hours.

Buenos Aires to Comodoro Rivadavia

A favorite of the Infinite Flight team, LAPA offers a unique selection of routes in South America. One of the many to choose from is this domestic hop from Buenos Aires to Comodoro Rivadavia. Taking 2.5 hours, it offers you stunning views as you cross over each Argentinian province. The approach into Comodoro Rivadavia takes you across some high-level terrain, so make sure you follow the glideslope all the way in!

You’ll get views of Greenland before passing into Canadian airspace, flying over Quebec and Ontario. Passing the border into the USA, you’ll experience the vast spaces of Minnesota, South Dakota, and Nebraska before the mountains of Colorado loom large in the distance.

Delhi to Vancouver

As India’s largest airport, Delhi serves routes to all corners of the world. Its location within the Asian continent means long flights to North America, and our first suggestion is the mammoth flight from Delhi to Vancouver. Taking well over 15 hours, this flight takes in the scenery of the Himalayas and the Japanese coastline, arriving in Vancouver with the Canadian Rockies in full view.

This route is flown regularly by the Air India B77W. Our 20.2 update brings this much-requested livery to Infinite Flight, so jump in, strap up, and take the shiny new aircraft on its maiden voyage!

Kuwait City to Lahore

Alongside the Air India B77W, the Kuwait Airways livery is just one of the many new liveries added to the B777 family with 20.2. The modern livery was unveiled in 2016 and sports a stunning blue and white scheme, with the vertical fin and aft fuselage sections covered in a take on the airline's bird logo.

The flight takes 3.5 hours, crossing the Persian Gulf, heading over Dubai, and then turning North into Pakistani airspace. As you approach Lahore, Pakistan's third-largest airport, you’ll come to the end of the Thar Desert, with the scenery changing to a vibrant green!

A favorite of the Infinite Flight team, Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport is home to Eva Air. The airport runs parallel to the Dongyanshan National Forest area, with a host of mountain peaks seen from the approach path.

This route, taking almost 16 hours, heads north from New York into Canadian airspace before tracking west alongside the northern border of the country. Look out for the many national parks and Arctic Wildlife Areas along the way!

The entire length of this journey is within Russian airspace, with the final leg of the flight skirting to the east of Chinese airspace. Flown by the Aeroflot B77W, this route is a great alternative to a transatlantic flight!

Paris to Libreville

Fancy driving this route? Well, it’ll take you 109 hours. If that doesn’t sound fun, you can take the trip in the Air France B77W. On the way, you will take in the Alps, the Mediterranean Sea, and the entire expanse of the Sahara Desert. This is perhaps the most scenic route on our list, and recommend flying it during the day for the best views!

Toronto to Kyiv

Sporting a vibrant blue, white, and yellow color scheme, Ukrainian International Airlines recently put their B772 on the Toronto to Kyiv rotation. As you depart from Pearson International, Canada’s busiest airport, you will see amazing views of Lake Ontario.

Roughly 9 hours later you’ll begin your descent into Kyiv. If you have VNAV enabled, a new feature with 20.1, you can set your aircraft to descend automatically to hit altitudes for each waypoint. You’ll pass near the home airport of the infamous A225 aircraft to the north-west of Kyiv before flying over the city itself!

Vienna to Cape Town

From the City of Music to the Mother City, this flight takes you across the entire, remarkably beautiful, continent of Africa. Flying in the new Austrian Airlines livery, this flight on the Austrian B777 is perhaps the most scenic of them all!

You depart from Vienna airport, making a southbound turn shortly after departure. As you fly over the many African nations including Libya, Chad, and the DRC, amongst others, you will notice the changing topography and geography of the diverse climatic zones. These are some of the most expansive and unique countries in the world, so your view out the window will be well worth the trip!

Luanda to Lisbon

Staying with our African theme, TAAG Angola is a popular and much-loved African airline. Their striking B772 livery has made its way into Infinite Flight with 20.1, and the popular Luanda to Lisbon route is the clear choice of flight to take.

Departing Luanda you bank north and track parallel to the African west coast. You’ll fly over the Gulf of Guinea before making landfall for the first time. Look out for the volcanic caldera islands to your right as you pass over the Gulf! Your descent will start as you pass alongside the Strait of Gibraltar, and soon Aeroporto de Lisboa will be in full view!

You’ll head west and follow the southwest tip of England before negotiating the lengthy Atlantic Ocean. Your flight plan may take you over the remote islands of the Azores, a small group of Portuguese islands famous for volcanic craters, 15th-century churches, and a host of colorful lakes!

By the time Barbados is in view, you will have began your descent. Grantly Adams airport is located on the south side of the island, so you’ll have a great view of the entire location whether you approach from the east or the west!

San Francisco to Guam (via Honolulu)

Our one and only double-barrelled flight links the three main airports on the United Island Hopper route. Flying from San Francisco to Guam, via Honolulu, this route by the United B777 allows you to take in two islands in one!

The first flight, a 4.5-hour hop, lands at Honolulu. Upon departure for Guam, you’ll depart using the unique island runway at Honolulu (winds permitting). Banking west will set you on course almost direct to Guam. Guam is the westernmost territory of the United States of America, so you won’t be leaving the United States at any time during this entire route!

FlightMapper

FlightMapper.net is a simple to use online tool. It lists 87072 direct and 12561 non-direct routes and uses a map-based system to give you flight suggestions. You use it by dropping two points on a map. You will then be given real-world routes that are as close to those two points as possible. Below, you can see we dropped two pins, one in the Arkansas area of the USA, and one in the central United Kingdom. We were given Dallas to Heathrow, and Houston to Manchester as two examples.

The website also gives you information on the aircraft, airline, route length, schedule and flight time.

Flight Radar 24 and FlightAware

FlightRadar24 is a tracking app and website that shows aircraft flying in the real world. It allows you to filter by aircraft type, airline, and airport, amongst others. You can also see the flight history of the aircraft, so if the specific route currently being flown isn’t to your taste, you can easily look back and find one that is.

FlightAware is a similar website to FlightRadar24. It has a map function, however, it has further useful features to help you find a flight. One of these is the random flight generator. When you select it, a random flight anywhere in the world will be shown. This will be a flight that is currently in the air or taxiing, so you can be sure it is a route that is currently operating!

Skyscanner

By definition, Skyscanner is a price comparison company. While this may seem like a curveball on this list, Skyscanner offers several useful features to help you find a flight. A simple search for a flight from A-B can give you a list of airlines that fly that route. This is great for when you are wanting to fly between two busy airports and don’t have an airline preference!

For more freedom in finding a flight, you can use the Anywhere function. You enter a departure airport, then use the function to show you all of the scheduled flights from that airport across the world.

The Infinite Flight Forum

Playing host to our most active users and making up the core of our community, the official Infinite Flight forum is a great place to find a flight to fly. There are several established routes given for events such as the Friday Night Flight, and we also have suggested route topics.

If you’re really struggling to find something, you can also simply have a look in our #events and #groupflights categories. Here you will find amazing flights with other community members. The best bit? The event creator will do all the planning for you!

FPLtoIF

Created by our long term community member and moderator Chris Shaffer, FPLtoIF assists pilots in copying their flight plan from Flight Aware or SimBrief into Infinite Flight. It gives you a breakdown of the flight including fuel needed, flight time, and list of the waypoints for your flight.

Much like FlightAware, FPLtoIF has a random flight generator. This pulls flight plans from the pool created and saved by other users. You can filter by various features, with the most unique being active IFATC airports. This filter works for expert server airports only. This is an awesome feature that is unique to FPLtoIF and we strongly encourage you to give it a try!
